"PRAKRITHI Palm Dish" is well known agro based industry for manufacturing and selling of Areca leaf plates and food containers in south India, located at Kannur District, Kerala. Kerala is known as "God's own country", is one of the largest regions manufacturing areca nuts. At present areca nut leaves are treated as agro waste by farmers in India. However the effective use of these leaves for producing the value added dishes will naturally make this agro waste an important raw material for which the farmers will fetch a price. It will be an additional income to areca nut farmers.

We encouraged participation of women in the manufacturing process, and they become part of industry. We have started our unit "Health and Wealth from waste concept" Areca Palm leaves are agro waste of areca palm nut production. Areca leaf plates and food containers do not possess any harmful chemicals and are thus extremely safe for long term usage. Our Disposable Dinnerware is completely made out of fallen areca palm leaves based on a simple idea of using natural resources without harming nature. We use excellent quality materials and latest technology in the production, leaves are collected directly from farmers and venders of the market.

Paper products do not come naturally white, all white paper is bleached with chemicals, Dioxin is a chemical used to bleach wood pulp, which is a large component of paper, when dioxin enters the landfill as waste, it leached into soil and contaminating ground water, paper plates are contaminated with food residue when used they can't be recycled unless you have a home composting system. Natural production process

The leaves of the areca palm tree (Areca Catechu) are picked up from the ground, soaked in water and compressed to a form of a design plate between two hot casts. When the plate cools down it will harden to a form which can endure even a bit harder use. We are using automatic machines to convert the leaves into leave plates and food containers.
