Introduction

Barbosa & Neto, Ltd., was founded on January the 11th of 1990. Initially the company produced ready to wear garments for men and women, as well as uniforms and textiles for hospitals and nursing homes.

As result of the 1992 crisis, the company ceased to produce ready to wear garments, and concentrated exclusively on manufacturing uniforms and textiles for the hospitality and healthcare industry.

After this change the company gained a competitive advantage, by achieving a significant market amongst these clients. This growth gave rise to internal changes namely in the number of employees and also our business partners.

As a result we decided to implement a System of Quality Management, to show the organisation provided a service of excellence. On the 10th of March 2006, we were awarded by APCER, the company certification through the norm ISO 9001:2000.

In 2006, the company restructured the design and production department, by employing highly qualified personnel and upgrading the CAD system.

A new cycle began with the acquisition of new facilities in Zona Industrial de Souselas in 2007, with the great commitment of the personnel of the I&D and Management.

In 2009, to attract more customers and keep the loyalty of the existing public and private ones we restructured our Sales department.

The Company aims to achieve three short term goals. Namely:

Clothes for patients and bedridden patients: Nightdresses in cotton and jersey,cotton pyjamas,gowns .

Uniforms:Men and women Jackets, trousers,knitted pullovers and cardigans,tunics,fleeces,t-shirts,polos and sweatshirts,laddies blouses and skirts.

Professional clothing:Tunics (coats), Jackets, trousers, overalls,bib & braces . All necessary wear for: gardeners, mechanics, receptionists, administrative personnel, cleaning staff, beauticians, waiters, social workers, food preparation, hotels, etc.

Health: Bedding, patient wear, pillowcases, Towels, wrappers, bath robes,lab coat, tunics and trousers for nurses, assistant, etc. Gowns and scrab suits.
