    Lightweight expanded clay aggregate (LECA) is made from 100% natural clay at average 1100-1200℃ in rotary kiln .The yielding gases expand the clay by thousands of small bubbles forming during heating producing a honeycomb structure. LECA has an approximately round or potato shape due to circular movement in the kiln, and is available in different sizes and densities.

    What is hydroponics?

     Hydroponics is a subset of hydroculture and is a method of growing plants using mineral nutrient solutions, in water, without soil. Terrestrial plants may be grown with their roots in the mineral solution only, or in an inert medium, such as perlite or gravel. The nutrients in hydroponics can be from fish waste, normal nutrients, or duck manure.

    Expanded clay pebbles aggregates pellets is one of the best substrate for hydroponics growing. The substrate can be reused many times and thus is a eco friendly way to agriculture.

     

    Potting media for Orchids – Used alone or in combination with coconut husk chips, bark, charcoal or other orchid media, porous structure can provide excellent aeration around the roots while its ability to act as a water reservoir will be appreciated by your orchids when water is needed. The size of the pebbles is perfect for medium to large Cattleyas and Laelias.

     

    Hydrophonic/Hydroculture media – The capilliarity and the structure of the clay pebbles ensures good root aeration and prevents rotting, excess acidity and soil pests.

     

    Drainage – Compared to gravel, is lighter and can act as a water reservoir. can then release the water when its surroundings needed it.

     

    Decoration – With its red color and mostly round shape, is often used as a decorative top-layer for indoor plants and outdoor gardens. As a top layer, it will also prevent the top soil from drying out quickly.
