Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate in Construction
1.LECA Sizes: 2-4mm, 3-9mm, 9-16mm, 10-30mm
2. LECA advantages:
· Lightening up to 30% of dead load
· Self thermal & Sound Insulation
· Appropriate Behavior in Earthquake
· Physical Operation
· Accelerating Construction, Saving time, Labor, and material
· Safe for Installation
3. LECA Constructional Applications:
· Lightweight aggregates concrete:
In all the cases which lightening and insulation should be considered in buildings, Leca light weight aggregate , comparing to autoclaved aerated concrete foam concrete or concrete made of pumice or scoria has a wider range of applicability.
· LECA lightweight concrete block:
LECA back is produced by mixing of Leca aggregates, Cement, sand and water. Using of Leca aggregate decreases the concrete density.

Q1: What are Expanded Clay Pebbles?
A: Clay Pebbles are a name given to LECA (Light Expanded Clay Aggregate) or Clay Balls. Clay Pebbles are made by baking pure natural clay at 1200 degrees Celsius for 3 hours. They are also known as clay balls, hydro pebbles etc.
Q2: Can clay pebbles are used as insulators?
A: Sure, of course. Clay pebbles have a low thermal conductivity coefficient, giving it the property of a heat insulator. Clay balls are also used to make #50-#150 aggregate concrete, a construction product.
