Loving Band, or Ai Yue Tuan in Chinese, is one of the most popular bands in Asia. Just as its name implies, the band promotes not only music, but also love. The band's two members, Wang Chao and Hu Lin, have made great contributions to charity and are the youngest members of the Council of China Charity Federation. Our reporter He Fei has their story.

Believe or not, Wang Chao, a guitarist and rock musician, got his start as a classical pianist. After a U2 album inspired him to become a rock musician, he devoted his days to practicing the guitar and even started a rock band on his campus.

After graduation, Wang Chao came to Beijing with only 500 yuan, his guitar and a dream of making music. Jobless, he sang in bars to earn a living. Life was hard, but Wang Chao never gave up on his dream.

Luckily, Lu Chuan, now a famous director in China, heard one of Wang Chao's songs. Deeply impressed, Lu Chuan asked Wang Chao to compose songs for his first film, "The Missing Gun."

The film was very successful and Wang Chao gradually became famous as a composer and guitarist before he started his own band in 2005.

"This experience helped me to gain a better understanding of music. It helped a lot when I founded the band. I named it Loving Band because I think most music is about love and I hope listeners can feel my love through my music."

His first partner was Xu Li, a female singer, and their first album "Loving Skyline" was a success. But when Xu Li left to go back to school in 2006, Wang Chao began looking for a new partner, and soon discovered Hu Lin.

"I found Hu Lin by searching on the Internet. When I heard her voice, I knew she is the one I was looking for. The voice fits my style perfectly, with great passion."

Hu Lin felt the same way.

"I feel lucky that I met him. I like his music style very much and I enjoy singing songs that really belong to me."

The pair are a great fit for each other and by now have performed all across Asia. Their second album "Unloosen" is loved by fans all over Asia.

From the beginning, the band has also been interested in charity work. They donate to charity groups and hold benefit performances from time to time, generous acts that both see as part of their duty.

"You feel happy when you help someone. And you will keep doing it for the simple happiness."

"As celebrities, we have a certain social influence on the public. We do not want to gain anything from this. It is a call from our hearts. When you meet someone who needs help, you will help him or her if you have the ability. That's what we are doing." 
In January 2008, Wang Chao and Hu Lin became the youngest members of the Council of China Charity Federation for the great contributions they have made to Chinese charities.

Singing and loving, the Loving Band continues pursuing the paradise of music and love.
