    Product Description

    Perlite Ore:

     

    Perlite Ore are natural volcanic glasses, but the key feature for perlite is that when it is heated it expands.

    The expansion process is cansed by the presence of water in the crude rock, When perlite ore is rapidly heated

    to 800-1100℃ this water vaporizes and caused the softened rock to expand, the expansion process is a lot like making pop 

    corn, the expanded can be 10-40 times its original bulk density.

     

     

    Perlite in the ore form is used in high temperature applications in the steel and foundry industries, ferrous and non-ferrous industries,

    as a slag coagulation agent, in ladle topping compounds, as an ingredient in exothermic and insulating sleeves.
